A two-day consortium meeting was successfully held on the 2nd and 3rd of April 2025 in Chennai, India, bringing together representatives from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), King’s College London (KCL), RTI International, and partner institutions from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan. The meeting served as a key platform to review project progress, align intervention strategies, and discuss plans for future scalability.
The sites presented updates on site-specific intervention protocols, training and evaluation frameworks, and tools being used to assess feasibility and impact. Key highlights included discussions on project extension to October 2026, owing to initial delays, and preparation for the final phase focused on scalability using the ISAT approach (Work Package 6).
Detailed feedback was provided by the consortium on monitoring plans, informed consent documentation, and the importance of documenting training and evaluation processes across all sites. Special sessions addressed patient navigation protocols, with a comprehensive presentation by the Tamil Nadu site team, where the District program officer on behalf of the team, presented their co-developed district-wide navigation plan in Villupuram.
The meeting concluded with a consensus on harmonizing data collection via a centralized REDCap database, finalizing evaluation tools, and revisiting site budgets in preparation for the proposed no-cost extension. The next PI meeting is planned for early 2026, aligned with the completion of intervention evaluations and the transition toward scalability assessment.
